Walking for Guide Dogs Print E-mail

When Guide Dogs for the Blind Association emailed me to invite dog owners to support an eight year old flat coated retriever Barney walking from Lands End to John O'Groats, what could I do but say Yes!  Rosco, my eight year old flat coat is now registered and has received his smart cape (or bib) as you can see in this picture, in readiness for our walk on June 24.  Just £35 supports a guide dog partnership for a whole week so we are really hoping to raise at least that.  You can donate at http:/www.justgiving.com/owner-email/pleasesponsor/Deborah-Bragg.  Do help us make a difference - every little will help!

Restrained Print E-mail

The Highway Code says that dogs must be "suitably restrained" in cars - ie harnessed, in a carrier/cage or behind a guard.  Now, the comparison website GoCompare says that in the event of an accident some insurers may refuse to pay up if the dog was not restrained.  You have been warned!

Barney, an eight year old flat coated retriever, is walking from Lands End to John O'Groats with owners Jos and Bob to raise £2,500 for Guide Dogs.  He set off on March 26 and aims to complete his marathon walk on July 2.  All dog owners are invited to join in and walk at a time and place and distance of their choice - so do go to the charity's website to see how you and your dog can support Barney.  The Canine Behaviour Centre has already registered - and Rosco will be walking to support his fellow flat coat, although not quite so far!
