Danger in the garden Print E-mail
Thursday, 06 May 2010 09:18

Now that spring has finally sprung those of us with gardens are making the most of it - with sowing, planting, mowing etc.  It is easy to busy yourself working away and completely forget that the garden can be a dangerous place for your dog.  If you are using any kind of weedkiller or fertilizer, do check whether it is safe for pets.  You might think that dogs would not be attracted to such things - but it has to be said, certain breeds can not resist trying anything that looks even vaguely edible.  And that includes, for example, daffodil bulbs and slug pellets!  Each year several pets die thanks to such goodies so to ensure that it is not your dog that is rushed to the vet with poisoning, do read carefully before you buy - and keep an eye on what your dog is taking an interest in.
