Daisy, a six month old pedigree standard wire-haired dachsund is looking for a new home. Her owner, Stephen, bought her in partnership with his girlfrien but the relationship has broken down and he has realised, belatedly, what I told him all along: that he did not have enough time to look after a puppy. To give him credit, he has at least admitted it and is looking for a new home for her while she is still quite young. She cost £650 at 8 weeks old and although I have told him he is unlikely to get his money back, he wants a reasonable price for her as he wants to avoid her going to someone who is looking for a "bargain." If you are interested, you can call Stephen on 01434 344093 (Northumberland).
Poor little Daisy. The moral of this sad ltale is DON'T buy a puppy until/unless you are 100% sure that you really do have the time to care for one. And if you are buying a dog in partnership with someoneone else, do make sure you discuss what will happen in the event of the relationship breaking down BEFORE you buy. It is becoming increasingly common for dogs to be re-homed due to divorce, so much so that we now cover it in the Dog Psychology Course!
